12-week-old Baby Severely Bruised from Intentional Abuse Inflicted by Parents; Suspects Arrested by Kentucky Authorities

In Simpson County, two parents are being accused of abusing a 12-week-old kid.

On Monday, Franklin residents Jeremy Glen Gosnell, 35, and Tabitha Nicole Wood, 33, were taken into custody on suspicion of criminal child abuse.

Gosnell and Wood “knowingly and unlawfully committed the offense of criminal abuse, first degree – child 12 or under” when they “intentionally abused” their 12-week-old kid between March 6 and March 7, according to indictment papers obtained by News 40.

According to the court records, the youngster was taken to Glasgow’s T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

The indictments further note that the baby had seven fractured ribs, several bruises to the face, forehead, and right cheek, as well as a gash above the left eye and a cut on top of the scalp.

Both Gosnell and Wood face first-degree criminal abuse, first-degree wanton endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a minor charge. The children in question are twelve years old or younger. On top of that, Gosnell is facing charges of persistent criminal offender I.

The Simpson County Detention Center is still housing both of them.
