During a large-scale operation that targeted members of gangs in Los Angeles County, thirteen people were taken into custody on suspicion.
An Antelope Valley street gang that is suspected of committing violent crimes was the subject of an investigation by detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The identities of several members of the gang, as well as the locations of their homes, were discovered.
Over the course of Thursday, search warrants were executed at a total of eighteen different locations across Lancaster and Palmdale with the assistance of a number of different organisations, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Twenty-three firearms, including two AK-47 rifles, high-capacity magazines, ammunition, and a significant quantity of narcotics, were taken into custody by the investigators during the course of the searches.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Arson and Explosives Detail was able to securely remove a mortar and what were believed to be C-4 explosives that were discovered at one location.
On criminal charges, thirteen people were taken into custody, including the following:
- Possession of a mechanism that causes destruction or an explosive
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon
- Someone who is not the registered owner of a loaded firearm is carrying it.
- Carrying a controlled substance while armed is a criminal offence.
- Ownership of a machine gun was found.
- Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell it
- Sale of methamphetamine while in possession of the drug
At the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, each of the suspects was taken into custody and kept without the possibility of bail. Their identities were not disclosed to the public. The date of the court hearing is set on the 24th of March.

“In an effort to combat criminal street gang activity, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department formed the Operation Safe Streets (OSS) Bureau in 1979,” officials stated. “There are OSS teams assigned to patrol stations throughout the county that are dedicated to investigating, identifying, and apprehending suspects involved in criminal street gang activity.”
