13-Year-Old Boy Slashed in New York City


NEW YORK, NY — Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an assault on a 13-year-old boy in the Bronx on Tuesday. According to the New York City Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. inside 837 Home Street, within the 42nd Precinct.

Authorities report that the unidentified individual approached the victim and engaged in a verbal dispute before displaying a scalpel and slashing the boy on his right arm and left hand. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by EMS, police said.


The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion and short dreadlocks, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt and black pants.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual. Anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). All calls are confidential.
