13-year-old Girl Arrested for Alleged School Shooting Threat in Minnesota; Classes Cancelled after Threat

Authorities in Becker County, Minnesota, arrested a 13-year-old girl on Thursday after she allegedly threatened a shooting at Pine Point School in Ponsford. The threat was reported around 7 p.m., prompting the school to cancel classes on Friday as a precaution.

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office stated that their initial investigation revealed “no indication of any imminent danger to the school, staff, or students from this incident.”

This arrest follows several recent incidents involving threats to schools in Minnesota. Earlier this month, a 12-year-old girl was taken into custody in St. Paul for making threats on social media against multiple schools. She was released after authorities determined she did not have “the means or desire to carry out the threat.”

Additionally, a 15-year-old boy was arrested the following week for allegedly threatening Irondale High School in New Brighton.

Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of addressing such threats seriously to ensure the safety of students and staff. For more information, updates will be available through local law enforcement channels.
