15-year-old arrested in armed carjacking on 48th Place




Washington, D.C.In relation to an armed carjacking that took place in Northeast Washington in September, a male 15-year-old has been taken into custody and charged.

The event happened in the Northeast 500 block of 48th Place on September 19 at around 10:31 p.m. The culprit got out of a car, went up to the victim, and demanded that they get out of their car while brandishing a weapon. After the victim complied, the suspect drove off in the stolen car, which the police eventually found.

The young suspect, who lived in Northeast D.C., was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun) on December 11.

Police are still investigating the matter and are looking for more details. Tips that result in additional arrests or convictions related to this or other violent crimes in the District could earn up to $10,000.
