15-year-old victim seeks help at high school after East Capitol Street shooting




Washington, D.C. Police are looking for suspects who were seen on camera after a 15-year-old kid was shot Friday morning behind an apartment building on East Capitol Street Southeast.

According to authorities, the incident happened in an alley on the 1700 block of East Capitol Street at approximately 9:42 a.m. After being shot, the adolescent was able to flee to Eastern High School for assistance and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives have released photos of the suspects and their car taken by local surveillance cameras in an effort to identify the perpetrators.

Although they warn against taking direct action, investigators are requesting the community’s assistance in finding the suspects. Police ask that anybody with information call (202) 727-9099 or text their tip to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.

For information that results in the arrest and conviction of the shooting suspects, a reward of up to $10,000 is being given.
