Holyoke, MA — Two Holyoke men were arrested Friday morning in a multi-agency operation that uncovered significant quantities of illegal drugs, firearms, and high-capacity magazines, according to local authorities.
Major Seizure on Portland Street
At approximately 9:45 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at a home on 41 Portland Street as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking. The operation involved members of the Holyoke Police Narcotics/Vice Division, CINRET West (Massachusetts State Police), the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
During the search, three suspects were detained. Two were arrested and identified as 30-year-old Montel Harris and 26-year-old Tyron Harris, both of Holyoke.
What Investigators Found
Authorities seized a massive cache of drugs and weapons, including:
- 597 grams of cocaine
- 176 grams of heroin/fentanyl
- 206 grams of fentanyl pills
- 118 grams of methamphetamine
- 70 grams of ecstasy
- 7 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
- 2 illegal firearms, both capable of holding 30 rounds
- A third high-capacity magazine
Charges Filed Against the Suspects
Montel Harris faces numerous felony charges, including:
- Cocaine Trafficking (200+ grams)
- Fentanyl Trafficking (200+ grams)
- Heroin/Fentanyl Trafficking (100–200 grams)
- Methamphetamine Trafficking (100–200 grams)
- Possession with intent to distribute Class B and C drugs
- Multiple firearm violations, including possessing firearms and ammunition without an FID card
- Three counts of possessing a large-capacity feeding device
- Two counts of possessing a firearm during a felony
- Violation of a restraining order
- Improper storage of a firearm
Tyron Harris is charged with:
- Heroin/Fentanyl Trafficking (36–100 grams)
- Possession of illegal firearms and ammunition
- Three counts of possessing a large-capacity magazine
- Two counts of firearm possession during a felony
- Prior violent/drug offense firearm violation
- Improper storage of a firearm
