A Midland man was taken into custody on Monday following allegations that he confessed to committing multiple instances of sexual assault against a young child. 46-year-old Daniel Leon Hendrix is facing charges of continuous sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 14, which is a first-degree felony.
Based on an affidavit, a woman reached out to investigators at the Midland Police Department on September 2nd following an outcry made by a little girl against Hendrix.
During a forensic interview, the child disclosed to investigators that she had experienced sexual assault by Hendrix starting in fourth grade. Throughout the interview, the child provided a comprehensive account of multiple interactions with Hendrix spanning from the spring of 2023 to late August 2024.
The child also mentioned that Hendrix had set up a motion-activated camera near his house to be notified if anyone arrived while he was involved in inappropriate activities with the young girl.
On that very day, Hendrix met with investigators and reportedly confessed to molesting and sexually assaulting the child on multiple occasions.
Hendrix was apprehended and transported to the Midland County Detention Center, where he is currently being held on a bond of $350,000.
