NY’s Long Island City After buying a third-prize winning ticket for the January 8 drawing, a fortunate Powerball player is celebrating a $50,000 victory.
The Greenpoint Expressway, situated at 35-15 Greenpoint Avenue in Long Island City, is where the winning ticket was sold. To win the $50,000 prize, the ticket had to match the red Power Ball and four of the five white ball numbers.
Winning numbers are selected from a field of one to 69 for the white balls and one to 26 for the red Power Ball during Powerball drawings, which take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
Players are reminded by the New York Lottery to thoroughly inspect their tickets and sign the back right away in order to guarantee their wins.
