Meet the City Manager Candidates

The community is invited to a meet and greet on Tuesday, June 15, 5:30 to 7 p.m. with the final three Clearwater city manager candidates at Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen Booth Road.

The event is free to the public.

The final three candidates include Michael Cernech, city manager of Tamarac, Florida, Carl Geffken, city manager of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Kevin Woods, city manager of Thornton, Colorado.

Ninety-one candidates applied for the new position. Five finalists were selected by the city council, but two – Jill Goldsmith of Chatham, MA, and Gary Palmer of Roswell, GA, have since dropped out of the running.

Current city manager Bill Horne will be retiring soon after more than 20 years.
