80-year-old Killed in Sheboygan County Crash after Driver Fails to Yield on Highway 23

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – A fatal crash in Sheboygan County has left one person dead and two others injured after a vehicle reportedly failed to yield while turning on State Highway 23 Friday afternoon.

According to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 3:47 p.m. on August 1 at the intersection of Highway 23 and Pleasant View Road in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

What Happened

A preliminary investigation revealed that a westbound vehicle, driven by an 82-year-old woman from Sheboygan, attempted to turn south onto Pleasant View Road and collided with an eastbound vehicle.

The eastbound vehicle was driven by a 45-year-old man, also from Sheboygan. All three individuals involved sustained injuries.

Injuries and Fatality

  • The 45-year-old male driver sustained minor injuries.
  • The 82-year-old female driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
  • Her passenger, an 80-year-old Sheboygan man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities have determined that the woman failed to yield to oncoming traffic, though the investigation remains ongoing.
