Pa. Vandergraft. After entering a guilty plea to many felony charges for firing over a dozen rounds into three occupied homes in 2021, a Vandergrift man was given a sentence of 12 to 24 years in prison.
In April 2021, Javon Lambert, 25, was charged after the shooting on Jefferson Avenue in March of the same year. After threatening a member of one of the victims’ families, investigators say Lambert targeted one home. The entrance door, window, and wall of a bedroom where a family was supposedly residing were all hit by bullets.
Although there were no reported injuries, gunshots damaged two nearby residences as well. Nicole W. Ziccarelli, the district attorney, underlined how serious the crime was and how it put several lives in jeopardy.
Interestingly, no one was hurt, according to a statement from the district attorney’s office. The severity of the careless acts that endangered the lives of innocent people is reflected in this sentence.
With assistance from Vandergrift Police and Westmoreland County Detectives, Assistant District Attorney Anthony Iannamorelli prosecuted the case. Lambert’s sentence demonstrates the county’s will to seek justice in gun violence cases.
