ROCHESTER NYA According to the New York Lottery, the lucky owner of a Powerball ticket purchased in Rochester for the Nov. 23 drawing has won a $50,000 third prize.
Wegmans, a well-known destination for lottery aspirants in the city, is where the winning ticket was bought. Wegmans is located at 3701 Mt. Read Boulevard. The large prize was secured when the ticket matched four numbers plus the red Power Ball.
At 10:59 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, Powerball numbers are picked from two different pools: one with numbers ranging from 1 to 69 and the other with numbers ranging from 1 to 26. After the drawing date, players have a year to pick up their reward.
Although the winner’s identity has not yet been revealed, lottery authorities advise players to thoroughly inspect their tickets.
