Newark man arrested after shots fired during hotel dispute, police say




NEWARK, DELA AR.According to the Newark Police Department, a guy from Newark is being charged with several offenses after he allegedly fired a gun during a fight at a nearby hotel early on Sunday morning.

Trent Wing, 35, produced a weapon and pointed it at a victim during a confrontation that escalated at a small group in a hotel room on November 24, according to police. When a second person tried to disarm Wing, there was a fight and the weapon exploded, breaking a door. According to authorities, Wing left the area with the gun and no injuries were reported.

Wing was safely taken into custody by Newark Police SWAT, Crisis Negotiations, and Criminal Investigations Unit officers at his home on November 25. He was then charged with several offenses, including two charges of carrying a concealed lethal weapon, aggravated menacing, and possessing a firearm while committing a felony, after being arraigned over the phone before Justice of the Peace Court #2.
