New Jersey’s Atlantic City.According to police on Tuesday, a Philadelphia man was arrested and many weapons were found after he allegedly pointed a gun at a security guard during a fight on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City.
The Atlantic Palace on the 1500 block of the Boardwalk was the scene of the incident on November 24 at 11:32 p.m. According to police, the suspect, 29-year-old Andrew Ibechem, argued with a security guard while brandishing a revolver before escaping the scene.
After looking over the CCTV tape of the altercation, Officer Danny Feliciano named Ibechem as the culprit. He was later found to be lodging at a motel in Atlantic City, when Officer John Bell caught him.
According to authorities, two handguns, ammunition, and two knives were found after a search warrant was performed on Ibechem’s car and hotel room.
Four charges have been brought against Ibechem: aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon. The Atlantic County Justice Facility received his remand. Police stressed that all defendants are assumed innocent unless proven guilty and that these allegations are merely accusations.
