Jackson, New Jersey. In an effort to improve its relationship with the community and highlight its officers’ participation in neighborhood events and activities, the Jackson Township Police Department has created a new Instagram feed. Residents are encouraged to share their images with the department and follow the page at @jackson_police_department.
The initiative’s leader, Lt. Fred Meabe, stated that the idea had been in the works for a while and stressed the value of community involvement. Please follow @Jackson_Police_Dept on Instagram. According to Meabe, the main purpose of this page is to highlight our Community Relations activities, including events, details, and simple neighborly involvement.
Residents are urged by the department to tag the page for a possible feature and shoot selfies or candid pictures with officers to acknowledge their efforts. Establishing a constructive and engaging community platform is the aim.
Meabe stated that the page would uphold a polite and safe environment, cautioning that any offensive or disparaging remarks would be deleted and account limits imposed.
Residents may interact with their local cops online in a variety of ways thanks to the department’s continued activity on Facebook at @jacksonpolicedept in addition to Instagram.
The goal of this project is to increase the department’s accessibility to Jackson Township citizens.
