Two Hyattsville teens arrested in connection with stolen vehicle in Gaithersburg




Gathersburg, Maryland.Following the discovery of a stolen car connected to an armed carjacking in Prince George’s County in October, officers from the 4th District Community Action Team (DCAT) arrested two 17-year-olds from Hyattsville on Tuesday.

According to the inquiry, on Monday, October 28, 2024, an armed carjacking resulted in the theft of the white Kia Forte. Officers saw the car on November 26 close to Parker Farmer Way and Bel Pre Road. The two adolescent suspects were successfully apprehended by the DCAT after they conducted a traffic stop in the 14200 block of Grand Pre Road with assistance from the 4th District Special Assignment Team.

After being taken to the 4th District Station, both suspects were accused of possessing a stolen vehicle. Later on, they were given back to their primary caregivers.

Although they have stated that the investigation is still ongoing, authorities have not released any other information regarding the carjacking event.
