Atlantic City police arrest shoplifter, recover gun and meth




NJA’s Atlantic City After being caught shoplifting at a Bass Pro Shop and found in possession of a loaded firearm, heroin, methamphetamine, and other substances, a 33-year-old woman from Atlantic City was taken into custody on Wednesday.

Around 11:36 a.m., officers Bao Pham and Matthew Crosby arrived at the first block of North Arkansas Avenue after the suspect, Teuta Kupi, was taken into custody by the Tanger Outlets security team. Kupi allegedly had stolen goods from the Bass Pro Shop and a piece of apparel that was later found to have been taken from another store, according to the police.

Police also found a loaded firearm, 23 bags of heroin, a minor amount of methamphetamine, prescription medications, and drug paraphernalia on Kupi at the time of the arrest.

Kupi was accused of receiving stolen property, shoplifting, unlawfully possessing a weapon, and numerous charges of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Atlantic County Justice Facility received her remand.

The public is reminded by the Atlantic City Police Department that Kupi is deemed innocent unless proven guilty and that the allegations are merely accusations.
