Downtown Toms River to host annual tree lighting with live entertainment




New Jersey’s Toms River. On Wednesday, December 6, Downtown Toms River will host its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, which will feature live holiday entertainment, refreshments, and a visit from Santa Claus.

Live acts are planned to delight guests at the event, which will start at 5 p.m. in Town Hall’s courtyard. The holiday season will officially begin at 7 p.m. when Santa arrives on a fire truck to light the tree.

Families can take pictures with Santa inside Town Hall after the lighting. The proceeds from the sale of cookies and hot chocolate will go to Volunteer Toms River Fire Company #1.

Throughout the event, nearby eateries and establishments in the downtown area will be open. Pets are not allowed at the tree lighting, the organizers have warned guests.
