Off-duty NYPD detective arrested on multiple charges, including firearm manufacturing and record tampering

At 8:01 p.m., 35-year-old Anthony Sciortino was arrested within the 123rd Precinct. The investigator is now facing a long list of accusations, including two counts of making a machine gun, two counts of creating a rapid-fire modification device, and one case of first-degree tampering with public records.

The allegations also include multiple counts of official misconduct, computer trespass, first- and second-degree falsification of company records, and unauthorized computer use. Additionally, authorities claim that Sciortino neglected to register or notify the sale of firearms five times.
