15-year-old arrested in deadly Bronx shooting of 29-year-old man

New York’s Bronx. In relation to the shooting death of 29-year-old Jerron Grant, who was shot and killed in broad daylight on Wednesday, November 27 on East 161st Street, a 15-year-old male has been taken into custody and charged.

The incident happened at around 2:42 p.m., according to police, when officers from the 44th Precinct saw the teenage suspect shoot Grant several times with a revolver, hitting him once in the chest. Officers caught the suspect minutes after he ran away on foot at East 156th Street and Courtlandt Avenue.

Grant was taken by emergency personnel to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was declared deceased. According to authorities, a pistol was found at the site.

Due to his age, the suspect’s name has not been made public. He is accused with two counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, first-degree manslaughter, and second-degree murder.

Authorities are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident as part of the continuing investigation.
