HOUSTON Following the deadly stabbing of a mother and a 2-year-old kid inside an apartment at 12360 Richmond Avenue early on Friday morning, Houston police have arrested and charged a man with capital murder.
The 29-year-old Kendrick Rayvon Fisher was arrested on the spot and charged in the 209th State District Court. A 28-year-old lady and her 2-year-old child were discovered dead in the apartment with several stab wounds, according to the police. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has not yet notified their families of their identities.
According to reports, his sister and niece were the victims.
Around 3:10 a.m., a citizen reported that the mother and child were being held captive in the apartment and voiced worries for their safety, alerting officers to the situation. Officers discovered Fisher dozing off on the couch when they arrived. With the help of paramedics from the Houston Fire Department, they found the victims during a search of the flat and declared them dead at the scene.
Fisher had blood on his clothes and appeared to have been in a physical confrontation, according to the police. Detectives charged Fisher with capital murder after questioning him and conferring with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. After being arrested, he was registered at the Harris County Jail.
Authorities are still looking into the matter as they try to get more information and alert the victims’ relatives.
