HENRY COUNTY, ILA – State police found more than 1,100 pounds of cocaine during a routine truck inspection on a peaceful section of Interstate 80 in Illinois, which ultimately revealed a large criminal enterprise. The estimated street value of the drugs, which were concealed inside a semi-truck, exceeds $40 million, underscoring the magnitude of this bust and the continuous fight against drug trafficking in the area.
Drug Bust on I-80 in Henry County
Around 2:10 p.m. on Friday, a Volvo truck-tractor semi-trailer passing through Henry County was inspected by an Illinois State Police (ISP) officer as a commercial vehicle. The policeman discovered a sizable quantity of cocaine concealed inside the truck during the examination.
Law enforcement officers recovered about 1,146 pounds of the narcotic in total. This bust is regarded as one of the most significant drug seizures in the region, with an estimated street value of over $40 million.
Arrests Made, Charges Filed
Vanshpreet Singh, 27, and Manpreet Singh, 36, the two people in the truck, were taken into custody right away. Possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver, and cocaine trafficking are among the major allegations against both individuals.
They are currently awaiting a pre-trial release hearing after being arrested and brought to the Henry County Jail.
