An individual has been apprehended in Warren County, Tennessee in connection with the unfortunate demise of a woman.
Joshua Wayne Goff has been taken into custody by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department on charges related to the death of Rebecca Maxfield from Smithville, Tennessee. He is facing allegations of abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
Maxfield’s disappearance was reported around August 4, 2024. A Warren County investigator discovered her body on August 15th, inside a vehicle in a cornfield in DeKalb County.
Goff was apprehended on Monday and placed in custody at the Warren County Jail with a bond set at $60,000. He is scheduled to appear before General Sessions Judge Ryan J. Moore for arraignment.
Goff’s arrest was made possible with the assistance of multiple agencies, including the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
