Newark police seek public’s help identifying package theft suspect

NEWARK NJ Authorities are requesting the public’s help in identifying a man who was seen on camera earlier this week stealing a package from the front steps of a house on Carolina Avenue.

The suspect was captured on surveillance footage riding a white bicycle in the 80 block of Carolina Avenue at around 10:57 a.m. on November 26th, the day of the theft. The culprit is shown on camera pulling up to the victim’s house, approaching the front stairs, stealing the package, and then riding off.

Anyone with information on the suspect is encouraged to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477), according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. Anonymous information may be eligible for a prize, and tips are kept private.
