Thanksgiving fire leaves family displaced, community rallies to help rebuild

LINDEN, NJ An electrical fire on Thanksgiving night damaged a large portion of the Elsieidy family’s home, leaving them with a huge challenge. All of the family members somehow made it out unscathed, but their house was nearly completely destroyed, so they had to start again.

To aid in the family’s recovery, Karlie Elsieidy started the AGoFundMe effort on behalf of her brothers Saif and Ramy, as well as her parents Reda and Hanan. The money will be used for short-term lodging, replacing necessary items, and starting the drawn-out process of renovating their house.

Karlie said on the fundraiser website, “The loss is overwhelming, as you can imagine.” We can intervene to help them in this situation. In order to pay for emergency costs, such as housing, clothes, and necessities for the home, the family is requesting donations.

The Elsieidy family is struggling with uncertainty and has lost their house due to the horrific fire. Community people have already started to support the GoFundMe, and donations are easing the immediate load.

As neighbors, friends, and complete strangers try to help the Elsieidy family through this trying time, the campaign is still accepting donations.
