The user who uploaded the footage online, NYC Scoop, called the incident, which happened on Monday close to Exit 1, a stupid game. The drivers seemed to keep cutting each other off and swerving, which made the situation worse and damaged their cars.
Although there were no reported injuries, the careless actions have been widely criticized for endangering other drivers. As the traffic around them came to a near halt, witnesses can be heard in the video expressing shock at the driver’s conduct.
According to the New York Police Department, they are aware of the occurrence and are looking into it. It’s yet unknown if charges will be brought against either driver or if they have been identified.
