Oscar Oberlino Gomez-Miralda Assaulted 5-Year-Old Girl, Captured on Mother’s Nanny Cam Now Heading to Prison

NJ’s MAYS LANDING According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Oscar Oberlino Gomez Miralda, 43, of Atlantic City, was found guilty on Monday of first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a five-year-old girl and sentenced to 25 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Gomez Miralda was sentenced on December 2 and must spend the entire 25-year term without the possibility of release under the Jessica Lunsford Act. Alongside the 25-year sentence, he was also given a seven-year sentence for sexually endangering the welfare of a child. He will be subject to lifetime parole supervision upon release and must register in accordance with Megan’s Law.

The subject’s immigration status and any ICE detainers were not disclosed by the prosecutor’s office.

In June, a jury in Atlantic County found Gomez Miralda guilty of sexually abusing the kid in her Atlantic City home in December 2022. Suspicious about the defendant, the girl’s mother installed a covert camera in her daughter’s bedroom while she was at work, which led to the discovery of the assault.

After an investigation by the Special Victims Unit of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Gomez Miralda, who was living with the family at the time and was in a relationship with the victim’s mother, was taken into custody. The state’s case was spearheaded by Assistant Prosecutor Tiffany deGrandmaison.


Gomez Miralda will not be eligible for parole until his sentence is completed, marking the completion of attempts to seek justice for the young victim.
