Pedestrian critically injured in Howell Township crash under investigation

HOWELL, New Jersey.A 45-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car on Route 9 in Howell Township earlier this week, resulting in life-threatening injuries. The incident is being looked into by authorities.

According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, the event happened Tuesday at around 5:17 p.m. close to the intersection of Lanes Mill Road and US Route 9. According to the preliminary inquiry, the pedestrian was struck as she approached the junction by a female driver who was driving north in the left lane of Route 9.


After being taken to a nearby hospital, the victim—who was described as a Lakewood resident—is undergoing treatment for serious injuries. Additional information regarding her condition has not been made public by officials.

According to officials, the driver stayed at the site and is assisting with the investigation. As the investigation is ongoing, no charges have been brought yet.
