Assault at Stafford school tops today’s local police blotter report

Stafford, Virginia.The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reports that a dispute between students at Stafford Middle School resulted in a felony complaint for assault and battery. One student allegedly assaulted another during physical education class on Wednesday morning in the school’s girls’ locker area. As the school resource officer, Sergeant J.T. Harrod responded to the scene and located the main aggressor.

In another instance, when doing a standard credit check, a Stafford resident found evidence of fraud. After discovering an unauthorized account in her name, the victim—who does not bank with Capital One—reported it to Deputy W.A. Bolinsky. According to the sheriff’s office, the fraud is still being investigated.


Authorities have reported that a theft occurred at the YMCA on Butler Road. On Tuesday, a woman who worked out at the facility reported that her phone had been taken. The theft was caught on security camera, which Deputy D.R. Ludolph examined. Investigations into the case are still ongoing.

Around noon on Wednesday, an employee of a construction site reported vandalism on Nebula Lane in the form of unlawful dumping. The rubbish was found when Deputy C.S. Harding arrived on the scene. Investigators are trying to find the culprits.
