New York’s Bronx.According to authorities, a Staten Island man was shot in the head in a Bronx neighborhood and died Thursday.
At around 3:34 p.m., officers received a 911 call about an incident at 688 East 223rd Street. When they got there, they discovered Melquan Johnson, 36, of Highland Avenue on Staten Island, shot in the head.
Johnson was taken by emergency medical professionals to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was declared deceased.
The NYPD’s investigation is still underway, and no one has been taken into custody.
Anyone with information on the incident is being urged to come forward by the authorities.
Detectives are still looking for suspects in this latest instance of gun violence in the Bronx.
