Three New Yorkers hit $50K Powerball wins

NEW YORK The New York Lottery said Thursday that three $50,000 third-prize Powerball tickets were sold around New York City for the drawing on December 4.

The winning tickets were bought at Sai Stop Deli & Grocery in South Richmond Hill, Bhakti 514 Inc. in Brooklyn, and Astoria Blvd Deli Grocery in Astoria. Four of the five white balls and the red Powerball were matched by each ticket.

For Wednesday’s drawing, the Powerball numbers were chosen from a pool of one to 26 for the red Power Ball and one to 69 for the white balls. At 10:59 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, drawings are held.

To secure any winnings, lottery authorities advise all players to thoroughly inspect their tickets and sign the back.

As the Powerball jackpot keeps rising, this week’s winners join the ranks of hopeful participants.
