85-year-old Staten Island man charged for murder of elderly wife in domestic attack




New York’s Staten Island. According to authorities, an 85-year-old man from Staten Island was taken into custody on Friday in relation to the stabbing death of an elderly woman in a residential area.

Authorities said that at around 11:31 p.m. on Thursday, officers received a 911 call regarding an attack that was taking place at 33A Carmel Court, which is part of the 122nd Precinct.

Officers discovered Laxmiben Khristi, 87, at the site with a chest stab wound. Emergency medical personnel took her to Staten Island University North Campus, where she was subsequently declared deceased.

Pitarbhai Khristi, 85, of 33 Carmel Court, was taken into custody by police on Friday at 4:50 p.m. Officials said he has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to the event.
