Chesapeake police arrest suspect who shot at cop car




CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Authorities said Friday that they have taken into custody a suspect in the shooting of a marked police vehicle on November 24.

When a search warrant was executed at a home in the 4000 block of Sloop Trail, Dominique Vaughan was apprehended without incident. With assistance from the department’s SWAT squad, the investigation was conducted by the Chesapeake Police Department’s Investigations Unit.

A Chesapeake police officer was operating a marked vehicle when it was hit by gunfire on November 24. Even though there were no reported injuries, the situation is still being investigated.

According to authorities, Vaughan is presently being detained at the Chesapeake City Jail. The charges and a possible motive were not disclosed by the authorities.
