Hazlet man charged with sexual misconduct in Middletown store incident




New Jersey’s Freehold. Authorities said Friday that a 21-year-old Hazlet man has been arrested and charged with sexual contact, lewdness, and stalking after he allegedly followed a lady around a Middletown store last month and engaged in inappropriate behavior.

According to a Middletown Township Police Department investigation, Perry J. Mangano is charged with approaching an adult female customer at the At Home store on State Route 35 North just before 7:30 p.m. on November 22. According to officials, Mangano made illegal physical contact with the woman and exposed himself in her presence.

Mangano faces charges of fourth-degree stalking, fourth-degree lewdness, and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Middletown Township Police Department spearheaded the investigation.
