Crash Near Paradise Leaves Motorist Trapped
A car rolled over into a sizable ditch filled with water on Tuesday close to Paradise, Michigan. Injuries were reported and emergency assistance was requested by Chippewa County Central Dispatch. Luckily, the first people to arrive were Border Patrol officers on snowmobiles patrolling the region. The car was partially immersed in the water, and they discovered a driver stuck inside. The steering wheel pinned the motorist, making it difficult to flee.
Agents Take Immediate Action
The agents moved swiftly. Deflating the airbag and trying to keep the driver’s head above water to avoid drowning, they entered the car through a window. The car was secured to a tree by nearby onlookers, who also used lumber to halt its sinking.
After arriving on the scene, the Whitefish Township Fire Department worked with the agents to free the trapped driver. For medical attention, EMS personnel took the sufferer to a hospital.

John Morris, Chief Patrol Agent, praised the agents for their courage and resolute efforts.
