NJ’s Toms River A nativity scene depicting the birth of Jesus Christ, featuring Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the angels, and Maji, will be displayed in front of Toms River Township town hall for the first time in recent memory. This year’s Christmas tree lighting and celebration will once more center on the genuine essence of Christmas, according to Mayor Dan Rodrick.
Rodrick said that he is not concerned about any confrontations with the forces supporting the Happy Holidays initiative.
Mayor Rodrick declared, “We’re not scared.” Forces have been attempting to instill beliefs in us, such as “Happy Holidays,” but this is a Christmas celebration, and this year in Toms River, we’re going to celebrate a traditional Christmas and get back to the real essence of the holiday.
Ahead of tonight’s celebrations, which begin outside town hall at 5 p.m., the township presented the nativity scene in front of the building today.
During Hannukah, Toms River also holds a menorah lighting every year.
