Two men arrested in Sterling road rage shooting

ERLING, VA. Following a road rage gunshot in Sterling earlier this week that damaged a car but did not injure anyone, authorities revealed that two suspects are in custody.

On December 3, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the event took place close to East Maple Avenue and South Lincoln Avenue. During a road rage fight, deputies investigating shooting allegations discovered that rounds had been fired at an inhabited vehicle.

After authorities found the car thought to have been involved in the shooting, the suspects—Jimmy Paredes Madrid, 29, and Aldo Betancourth Rivera, 34—were taken into custody on December 4. Both are charged with felonies.

For shooting into an occupied vehicle, Betancourth Rivera faces second-degree main charges. Paredes Madrid is charged with brandishing a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and shooting from a vehicle. The Loudoun County Adult Detention Center is holding both without bond.

Authorities are still looking for further information about the incident as part of their ongoing investigation.
