Suspect arrested in fatal Southeast D.C. shooting




WASHINGTON, D.C.—A suspect has been taken into custody by police in relation to the shooting death of Adam Dove, 45, who was killed earlier this year in Southeast D.C.

Officers from the Sixth District responded to reports of gunfire in the 1400 block of Ridge Place, Southeast, on March 8th at around 9:26 p.m., which sparked the shooting. Dove was declared dead at the scene after being discovered shot in the road.

Craig McKinney, 47, of Southeast Washington, D.C., was arrested by members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force on December 6, 2024. McKinney was charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed, in accordance with an arrest warrant issued by the DC Superior Court.

Additional information regarding the arrest and the circumstances surrounding the shooting has not been made public by the Metropolitan Police Department. The inquiry is still under progress.
