Stamford police investigate collision involving CT Transit bus and pedestrian




Stamford, Connecticut Authorities announced Friday that the Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is looking into a significant collision that left a 54-year-old man critically injured. The collision involved a CT Transit bus and a pedestrian.

Around 4:55 p.m. on Thursday, the incident happened on Glenbrook Road, right before the intersection with East Main Street (Route 1). After suffering severe injuries, the pedestrian—who was identified as David Sheridan of Stamford—was taken by Stamford EMS to Stamford Hospital, where he required emergency surgery. He is still in serious condition in the intensive care unit.

Following the crash, the bus driver, 50-year-old Hugo Cervantes, who also lives in Stamford, stayed on the site and called emergency services. Investigators interviewed him.
