New Jersey’s East Brunswick. Residents are being asked to report any information or footage of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) after the East Brunswick Police Department recognized a spike in drone sightings throughout the township on Friday.
Although using drones in unrestricted airspace is lawful, officials are trying to keep an eye on their operations to protect the public. The department stressed that the sightings are not associated with any credible or immediate threats.
By calling the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or sending in images and videos online at tips.fbi.gov, residents are urged to report drone activity. In the event that drones are spotted close to vital infrastructure, residents should contact 732-390-6901 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
While stating that there is now no reason for concern, police pointed out that drone sightings had spread throughout the state and asked for vigilance.
