Floating belongings spark water rescue operation at Northside Park in Ocean City




Ocean City, Maryland.After finding personal items floating in a lagoon, emergency personnel conducted a thorough search at Northside Park on Saturday night; however, no people were found in the water.

At at 8:09 p.m. on December 7, the Ocean City Police and Fire Departments and Public Works personnel arrived on the scene. Police said the goods were recovered from the lagoon, but they don’t know how long they were there.

Authorities searched extensively out of concern. While fire and EMS crews, with assistance from allied agencies, used advanced sonar and rescue divers to investigate the water, police conducted a perimeter sweep. Officials verified that there was nobody in the lagoon following a comprehensive search.

Only a small section of Winterfest was affected by the search, and the attraction’s last half-hour of operation was progressively shortened. No missing person reports have been made in relation to the event, officials said, and the disturbance was modest.
