California Driver Left Pet Python in Car after Police Chased Him Down after Sideshow; Driver with 3 Others Arrested by Authorities

The Vallejo Police Department reported that during a police pursuit, the owner of a reptile abandoned their 10-foot python inside a vehicle.

Approximately 500 vehicles took part in a sideshow at the intersection of Mare Island Way and Harbor Way on Friday night, according to the Vallejo Police Department. According to the police, the spectators and participants were causing traffic congestion.

Police were dispatched to the sideshow at 11:12 p.m. Various agencies were involved in responding to the sideshow, as reported by VPD.

The California Highway Patrol Air Operations Unit observed individuals inside a 2007 Cadillac CT6 using lasers inside their flight deck while engaging in reckless driving maneuvers. VPD reported that the occupants also shined lasers into the eyes of Vallejo officers.

Vallejo police officers made an effort to stop the Cadillac, but unfortunately, the driver did not cooperate. The pursuit came to a halt in Hercules, with all four suspects making a quick escape on foot.

Authorities have discovered a massive 10-foot python concealed within the sedan.

Several organizations collaborated to capture all the individuals involved. The driver has been arrested on multiple charges, including felony evading, as reported by VPD. According to the police, the three passengers were issued misdemeanor citations and were released from the scene.

The Cadillac was taken away. Vallejo PD stated that the python has been “returned to its owner who is facing criminal charges.”
