SALISBURY, M.D.The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that a Salisbury woman had been taken into custody in relation to a gunshot that occurred in November and left a female victim hospitalized with potentially fatal injuries.
Following an incident in the 500 block of North Curlew Road on November 16, 27-year-old Briana Monique Bratten was arrested on December 9 and charged with attempted first-degree murder along with related conspiracy and accessory charges. When deputies arrived on the scene of the incident at around 4:20 p.m., they discovered a woman with several gunshot wounds. The victim was taken by emergency personnel to Tidal Health, where her condition is stable.
Dequan Maurice Bratten, 32, of Salisbury, is the second suspect that authorities claim they are still looking for. A warrant has been issued for his arrest because investigators believe he was personally engaged in the shooting. Investigators are also trying to find additional people who might have helped or encouraged him while he was committing the crime.
The public is being asked to help the sheriff’s office find Dequan Bratten. If residents have information, they are encouraged to get in touch with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office personally, use Crime Solvers, or submit tips via the department’s website and app.
According to the sheriff’s office, detectives are still following up on leads connected to the case, thus the investigation is still active and ongoing.
