Columbus police seek help identifying person of interest in Southfield Drive homicide




Columbus, OhioThe Columbus Division of Police said Tuesday that detectives are requesting the public’s help in identifying a person of interest linked to the November 22 murder of 18-year-old Raheem Dawkins.

At around 1:01 p.m. on November 22, officers were called to a shooting in the 2900 block of Southfield Drive. When they arrived, they discovered Dawkins wounded by a bullet. After being brought to a nearby hospital, he passed away from his wounds at 1:32 p.m.

Branon Peterson Jr., 19, was taken into custody by police on December 7 and charged with murder for his claimed role in Dawkins’ demise. However, investigators are still following up on leads and are trying to identify another person of interest who was photographed by police and made public.
