Philadelphia Carjacking Murder Suspect Captured After Six Month Manhunt




The city of Philadelphia After a short foot pursuit, Tysean Forsythe, 21, who was wanted in relation to Heather Rainey’s deadly shooting on June 22, was captured on Wednesday in the 1900 block of East Allegheny Avenue.

Officers were investigating a stolen car when they ran across Forsythe on the 2000 block of East Wishart Street, which led to the arrest. Officers tracked him out and apprehended him without any problems after identifying him as a suspect in the June murder.

Heather Rainey, 47, was found in her Dodge Durango on the 700 block of West Poplar Street with a gunshot wound to her chest. Forsythe is charged with her murder. Shortly after being taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Rainey was declared dead.

Authorities issued a warrant for Forsythe on allegations of murder and related offenses after preliminary investigations at the time showed that the car’s engine was running, the window was damaged, and personal belongings were scattered inside.

Forsythe is currently being charged with robbery, carjacking, murder, conspiracy, and violations of the Uniform Firearms Act.
