Dundalk man wins $50,000 holiday scratch-off prize

Dundalk, Md. After winning $50,000 on a Holiday Luck Doubler scratch-off ticket he bought at Quick Mart on Merritt Boulevard, a guy from Baltimore County received an early holiday surprise.

According to the devoted Maryland Lottery player, who would rather not be identified, he usually takes his tickets home before scratching them. “I go home and put my tickets in the drawer,” he remarked. His top-prize win was confirmed by the notice on the Maryland Lottery app when he eventually scratched the $5 ticket. Stunned by his good fortune, he remarked, “I used my phone to scan it five times.”

The citizen of Dundalk, who has never won a jackpot of this size but is accustomed to second-chance promotions, made his first trip to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. He intends to keep the news to himself and his partner and utilize the windfall to celebrate the holidays and pay debts.

There are still four $50,000 top prizes available in the October-launched Holiday Luck Doubler game, in addition to a variety of $5–$5,000 prizes. With weekly rewards ranging from $5,000 to $100,000, the Maryland Lottery’s Holiday Cash Second-Chance Promotion is also open to non-winning holiday scratch-offs and FAST PLAY tickets.

The Maryland Lottery will give a $500 bonus to Quick Mart, the merchant who sold the winning ticket.
