Pedestrian killed, another injured in Neptune Township crash




New Jersey’s Neptune Township. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said Wednesday that authorities are looking into a tragic car crash on State Highway 66 that killed one person and injured another on Tuesday night.

At at 7:36 p.m., police arrived at the scene of a collision between a man and female pedestrian and a 2021 Ford Transit van being driven west by a male operator.

After being taken to a neighboring hospital, the female pedestrian passed away from her wounds around 8:15 p.m. After receiving minor medical attention at the same hospital, the male pedestrian was eventually released.

The driver is still at the scene and is helping with the continuing inquiry. Investigators are trying to ascertain what caused the crash, according to prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.
