Confrontation and Kidnapping
Around 7:30 p.m., the adolescent was strolling along Betty Lane, a residential street in Delhi Township, a Cincinnati suburb, when the altercation started. The boy was allegedly approached by 37-year-old Christian Austin, who asked him why he was in the area. Authorities pointed out that Austin’s concerns that the adolescent was trying to steal from cars may have been influenced by recent auto break-ins in the neighborhood.
According to the Delhi Township Police Department, [Austin] then pointed a gun and persisted in accusing the young person of having dubious motives for being there. Austin allegedly held the boy at gunpoint and pushed him into his truck after a brief exchange.

According to reports, Austin took the teenager to a United Dairy Farmers store on Cincinnati’s Cleves Warsaw Road. At the store, Austin allegedly let the youngster get out of the truck. After that, the teenager headed home and called the police right away.
