TOWSON, Md. — According to the police, a shooting and a subsequent fiery automobile accident that occurred on Tuesday night in a suburban neighborhood north of Baltimore resulted in the death of one person and injured nine others.
During a press conference, Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough stated that there were reports of gunshots being fired throughout a neighborhood that was located close to the location where the automobile ultimately crashed outside of a funeral home that seemed to be closed at the time.
The facts surrounding the shooting were not described in any depth by McCullough; however, he did state that detectives believe the shooting was both targeted and isolated.
According to what he said, “It seems that the individuals involved in this case knew one another in some way and that this incident was intentional and intentionally targeted.”
Nine patients were taken to the hospital, but the officials did not release any information on their conditions. As of right now, it is not entirely known whether all nine of them were shot.
A number of gunshots caused damage to the exterior of the funeral home, and the police got reports of gunshots in other locations as well, according to the officials. The incident was described by McCullough as “an ongoing, rolling type of gun situation that led up to the funeral home at the time of the shooting.” When the police arrived at the scene of the reported gunfire, they discovered the burning automobile lying on its side.
Johnny Olszewski, the Executive of Baltimore County, has stated that his office will assist the officers and firefighters who are investigating the case with the resources they require to solve the crime.
The act is disturbing, especially for those of us who live in Baltimore County, he said. “This is an incident that is shocking.” This kind of behavior is completely unheard of in this area, and as a result, it is extremely shocking to the conscience.
